9-A9DD-F54D0962AEBD@ucsc.edu" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote><br class=""></div><div class="">TITLE:&nbsp;<div class="">New Results from the AGORA Project. III: Calibration and Comparison of Cosmological Zoom-in Simulations using Seven Different Numerical Codes<br class=""><br class="">ABSTRACT:&nbsp;<div class="">In this talk, we will present the latest results from the AGORA collaboration. In this new work, which is the result of four years of research, we present a suite of high-resolution cosmological zoom-in simulations to z=4 of a MW-mass halo obtained using seven contemporary astrophysical simulation codes widely used in the numerical galaxy formation community. As a first result, we introduce a series of four calibration&nbsp;steps each of which is designed to reduce the number of tunable simulation parameters adopted in the final cosmological run. These steps can now be used by non-participating code groups to obtain equivalent models and to&nbsp;join the many follow-up projects we started. After completing these calibration steps, we reach a suite of cosmological simulations with similar mass assembly histories down to z=4. We show that with numerical accuracy that&nbsp;resolves the internal structure of a target halo, the codes overall agree well with one another, although showing differences in the most SNe feedback-dependent parameters. We argue that, if adequately tested following our&nbsp;proposed calibration steps and common parameters, code groups around the world can use this new suite of high-resolution cosmological zoom-in&nbsp;simulations to test and validate their codes&nbsp;and sub-grid physics. Models obtained by the new code groups will be added to the suite and will enrich future comparison projects.&nbsp;<br class="">Currently, the seven code groups are running their models down to z=2, and below, and they are saving a large number of snapshots. This large amount of data will allow us to continue with the ongoing science-oriented projects.&nbsp;We will show the first results obtained of two of these new projects.&nbsp;In the next months, we will make data from each of the calibration steps, and the final run down to z=4, publicly available. We encourage new code groups to use this data and join the collaboration by adopting&nbsp;the common initial conditions, the common easy-to-implement physics package, and the proposed calibration steps. We can provide them with early access to the data, and with technical support.&nbsp;We will end this talk by announcing the dates of the next AGORA workshop and presenting the new AGORA project webpage (<a href="http://www.agorasimulations.org/" class="">www.agorasimulations.org</a>).<br class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" cite="mid:EADB6968-C2A4-40D2-82D5-D0EC521328C2@snu.ac.kr" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" cite="mid:9C92517F-88B6-46C9-A9DD-F54D0962AEBD@ucsc.edu" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote>====================================================================================================<br class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div></div></div></div><div class="">
